WGNA: How Historic Trains Transformed San Jose

This event has already passed

The Willow Glen Neighborhood Association invites everyone to join us for a free talk by historian Ken Middlebrook and architect Marvin Bamburg entitled Historic Trains: How They Transformed San Jose.

Don't miss this exciting journey back in time to learn how trains helped shape our city and neighborhoods. In the early 1920's, San Jose became a thriving food processing, packaging, and shipment center. The proximity to fertile valley lands and fruit orchards made the area a natural location for canneries, warehousees, cold storage facilities, and related industries, making Santa Clara Valley the world's largest food processing region 1920-1960.
