Tiananmen Mission: Film Screening & Discussion
This event has already passed
Join the Monterey Public Library and Monterey History and Art Association for an in-depth educational and cultural discussion on the topic of China and how its influence intertwines worldwide, presented by Middle Land on Monday, April 15.
Tiananmen Mission is a historical film about the true China and its people. It promotes courage, dignity and freedom, through a young man—one of student leaders in the 1989 student movement in Tiananmen Square. Zhan Jiang, a 17-year-old, survived three bullets during the massacre, and had been in hiding for 16 years, when we recorded his story. His historical accounts are one of the most authentic Chinese narratives and his moving journey to freedom is an inspirational role model for the younger generation.
