The Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation supports an endowment fund for returning veterans who wish to re-enter civilian life by attending various schools and colleges to enhance their education. The Foundation is associated with the West Valley-Mission Community College Scholarship Foundation and participates in maintaining and awarding scholarships to qualified veterans. The Campbell Veterans Foundation also maintains a me-morial in the City of Campbell for the benefit of all veterans, primarily from, but not limited to the West Valley area.

The guest speaker for this Gala is Dr. Gloria Duffy, the current CEO of the California Commonwealth Club and former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. who led negotiations with the former Soviet Union countries to dismantle their nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and managed the $400 million per year assistance program that assist-ed those countries to undertake this program. She was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service in 1995 for her efforts in this project.

Dr. Duffy holds a Ph.D., an M.A. and an M. Phil. from Columbia University in New York, an A.B. magna cum laude from Occidental College, Los Angeles and an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from the University of San Francisco.
