Monterey Peninsula Pride is getting ready for the annual Pride Parade and Celebration in Downtown Monterey on Saturday, June 27. The organization relies heavily on community volunteers to pull off this joyful, family-friendly celebration.

Spa on the Plaza, located at 201 Alvarado Street, is offering summer specials in June and July, including a Coastal Glow Massage (50 min.), a Manuka Drench Facial (50 min.) and a Sunset Glow Package (110 min.).

The California primary election is June 2, and it's time to vote! A permanent Monterey County Elections ballot drop box for voters is installed at Monterey Public Library, available 24 hours a day until 8pm on June 2.

The County will empty it on a regular basis. Just drop your ballot safely in the box at 625 Pacific Street.

Venture Gallery presents the work of Cheryl Kampe , our featured local artist for June. Her exhibit of paintings, entitled Water Lilies and Paris Lights , was inspired by a trip to Paris and Giverny, France last fall.

Did you know it costs us $40,000 to put on the parade? And when it comes to paying the bills for this event, we can use all the help we can get.
