Immediately after the 2017 July 4th Parade, Monterey State Historic Park volunteers dressed in historic costumes and took visitors back in time at the Memory Garden located behind Pacific House. There were numerous interactive exhibits designed to educate children about what life was like in the Monterey area in the 19th century. You could make rope, play traditional games, practice leather craft, receive instruction in military drill, watch a blacksmith demonstration, and more.
