Fraser was born and raised in Campbell, California as the oldest brother of six children at 109 Budd Ave. In 1963, Fraser enlisted in the Air Force where he was stationed in RAF Croughton, England. There he met the love of his life, Mary. After getting married and having their first son and completing his tour of duty, they decided to travel back to Campbell to start their new lives as a family. In 1974 they bought their forever home, 85 Budd Ave, which ended up being right next to the house Fraser grew up in all his life.
Fraser established himself at IBM as a Senior Software Engineer. All throughout his IBM career of 38 years Fraser would bike to and from work which lead him to compete in multiple Triathlons (Ironman in Hawaii), marathons and ultra running and swimming competitions. Many that know Fraser would call him a "jack of all trades". The man really perfected anything he set his mind to including soccer, gardening, knitting, surfing and coaching.
After 35 years of hard work, Fraser's career was coming to an end and he wondered what was next for him. He always loved finding new interests which lead to his curiosity in ceramics. After taking a couple of classes and finding his love for pottery, Fraser slowly transformed his 400 sq. foot basement into a pottery studio. His studio includes creative space for handwork along with two wheels and an electric kiln. Here Fraser became the master of his art. He started incorporating pieces that would fit into his home and hobbies. Soon family and friends took an interest in his pottery and his costumers followed immediately after.
Fraser brings a new edge when it comes to modern functional ceramics. Not only does he create inviting earth tones to his pieces, he builds practical pieces made for the every day home. Below is a sample of the many beautiful art pieces Fraser throws today to sell at local farmers markets and events in Campbell and close by. Please feel free to take a look and write to the artist if you have any questions.
