Lighthouse Family Dentistry started over 40 years ago as Dr. Arancio’s “ship”. He was the first dentist to open a dental office on the other side of the Presidio in Monterey and it remains so to this day. His father was a fisherman and told him, “You need your own ship in life”, thus a large ship’s propeller was planted in the front yard. He sailed the ship from 1972 - 1991 when Dr. Ferlito took over and provided dentistry until 2005. The office was transferred to Dr. Bryan who continued to deliver dentistry in New Monterey until Dr. Patricia Van Kooten stepped aboard to help and deliver dentistry in February 2011. A new breeze picked up and she has been delivering quality dentistry ever since. On July 5, 2013 Dr. Van Kooten took ownership of the practice. She is grateful for all the good work her predecessors have provided to the community and the dental office location. She continues the office theme, provides quality dentistry, and a happy environment for patients and staff.
