Students, parents, and teachers of San Jose's River Glen Elementary and Willow Glen Elementary, as well as local non-profit and community organizations such as the Willow Glen Business Association, are pleased to announce a Walk to School Day on October 21.

Parents, teachers, and students will meet at 8am in the Bank of America Parking Lot, then parade together down the sidewalks to their respective schools. We'll be giving away free umbrellas, balloons, and ice cream coupons to the students!

The program hopes to encourage children, including those with disabilities, to walk and bike to school, and to make it safer and more appealing, thereby encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle from an early age.
