Halanda Studio in Downtown Willow Glen is pleased to present a Dance & Music Workshop led by Reyhan and Husnu Tuzsuz.

Reyhan and Husnu are outstanding examples of non-commercial, traditional Istanbul Romani ("Gypsy") music and dance. Reyhan is highly valued within her own community for her command of non-professional dance as performed by women in their own celebratory contexts. She has been teaching Romani dance since 2001 and she communicates in English.

Husnu, Reyhan's husband, is a well-respected local violinist active in the restaurant and wedding circuit in Istanbul. Since 2001, he has taught Romani violin style and repertoire. Fully employed as a musician, Husnu has performed three nights a week at Wonderland Cafe in Istanbul since 2010.
