Poetry Center San Jose, in collaboration with The Billy DeFrank Center, present The Language of the Body / The Body of Language: A Poetry Craft Talk & Workshop. The Craft Talk will be held on March 4, 7pm-9pm. The Workshop will be held March 25, 7pm-9pm. Cost is $15 each, or $20 for both. To register, please click here.

The craft talk and workshop will explore how poets use the body in their work. Both will be conducted and facilitated by Darrell Dela Cruz, who graduated from San Jose State's MFA Program for Poetry.

In the craft talk, we will be exploring, analyzing, and discussing these poems:
William Shakespeare, “My Mistress' Eyes Are Nothing Like the Sun”
Bill Knott, “Goodbye” and “Death”
David Keplinger, “The Bladder”
Charles Jensen, “Complaint of Achilles’ Heel”
Christina Pugh, “Ornature”
Ruth L. Schwartz, “Poem of the Body”
Max Goodwin, “X Why?”

For the last thirty minutes of the craft talk, Max Goodwin. Editor-in-Chief of Caesura, will join us to discuss process, ideas, difficulties, and advice about writing about the body, and his own work.
