Toribashi, Old Monterey's newest eatery, is holding a Grand Opening Celebration on Thursday, February 8 featuring a complimentary, family-style dining experience with seatings at 5:30pm and 7pm. Toribashi combines fast-paced California central coast living with traditional Japanese cooking. We serve simple, slow-cooked, delicious ramen dishes drawn from our chef’s 30+ years of experience in the US and Tokyo. The ramen served at Toribashi is prepared in the traditional manner brought over from Tokyo—with our chef's own spin. Seemingly simple, the chicken-based stocks and sauces are prepared with only the highest quality ingredients over 10-15 hours, and served with noodles made from the chef's own recipe. The results are beautifully balanced dishes with sophisticated taste profiles that rival high-end restaurants. Native Japanese diners have said that they feel like they’re eating a dish from their favorite ramen shop back home.
