Michael Lapsley: "Listening with the Heart"

Michael Lapsley, a South African Anglican priest and social justice advocate, will give a talk entitled "Listening with the Heart" at Saint Jude's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, May 27, 7pm-9pm. Admission is free. All are welcome.

Father Michael Lapsley is an Anglican priest from South Africa who was injured in a letter bomb in 1990, losing both arms and an eye. He recovered from extensive surgery and founded the Institute for the Healing of Memories, which seeks to contribute to the healing journey of individuals, communities and nations. He has worked extensively in South Africa, and internationally, including Rwanda, Bosnia, Serbia, East Timor, and also works in the USA with war veterans.

Healing begins with listening to others as they tell their stories of hurt. Tonight, Father Michael will share stories from his experience with the Institute for Healing of Memories and doing the deep work of listening.
