Monterey Public Library Friends and Foundation is hosting a giant used book sale Nov. 29 - Dec. 3 in the Community Room of the Library. You'll find something for everyone on your list including best sellers, rare books, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, coffee table books, and expanded genres.

Hours are Thu-Fri, 11am-2pm, and Sat, 10am-2pm.

On Small Business Saturday, New Monterey's Lighthouse District invites you to join us 10am-5pm for a district-wide Holiday Sidewalk Sale, featuring special deals and holiday cheer at locally-owned retail shops up and down Lighthouse Avenue from Reeside to David. We'll have unique gift ideas just for you!

Venture Gallery invites you to meet local artist Cheryl Kampe in person on Saturday, November 5, 2pm-6pm. Drop by the gallery, view her new exhibit, Tapestries , and speak with her about it. Cheryl's work will be featured at the gallery throughout the month of November.

Cheryl Kampe has always been aware of her mother's family history as weavers in the town of Chimayo, New Mexico. She writes: "These blankets have adorned our families' homes all my life and are the inspiration for my paintings." Her family worked in wool, while she now renders beauty from oil paint and cold wax.
