The Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation and the City of Campbell continued their Memorial Day tradition of honoring those who died in service to our country with a morning wreath ceremony at the Campbell Civic Center. This year's ceremony was a return to the full program for the event instead of the greatly limited format that was followed last year.
Among the local dignitaries that were in Campbell to pay respects were Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, State Senator Dave Cortese, Brigadier General Steve McLaughlin, and Santa Clara County Supervisor Otto Lee. Supervisor Lee was himself a veteran of the US Navy of 28 years. He addressed the crowd in uniform and asked everyone to not only respect those who died in war time, but also honor those who died in service while training or carrying out duties that while routine are still dangerous.
Thank you to everyone who came to show respect.
