On the first Friday of every month, Monterey Museum of Art on Pacific Street is open extended hours, 5pm-7pm, and offers free access to the galleries along with live music and refreshments. All are welcome!

On September 6, 2024, the museum celebrated the opening of two new exhibits, Yu-Gen: The Language of the Sea (featuring underwater photographs by Chuck Davis and Ryuijie), and Under the Guard Tower: The Watercolors of Chikaji Kawakami. There was also a performance by local singer-songwriter Gin Fragonard.
