About Komebukuro Bags

Japanese komebukuro bags are traditionally made from small pieces of cloth, often worn out but still treasured, to hold rice offerings at Buddhist temples. Smaller sized bags art also used for holding household items, storing foodstuffs like dried beans or presenting gifts while the larger sizes are used for other storage like for textiles.

About the Workshop

In this two session class, you will create a bag that is made from ten 8.5” squares to become a lined, structured, medium-sized bag good for holding a portable project like your knitting or your lunch.
